RAD Run Club

Primary school students across Australia will run, walk and move their way across the country as part of the new Broken Hill to Sydney Team Chase: RAD Edition. Using the established RAD Run Club platform, the initiative will help primary school students explore what healthy friendships look like and why confidence, empathy and respect matter.

Resilience. Attitude. Determination.

RAD Run Club is a free, inclusive weekly movement challenge for school children. Students can walk, skip, jog, run or roll around a safe looped course — before school, at recess or as a brain break — with every lap completed earning one House point. Children choose their own pace and distance, making the program accessible for all abilities and confidence levels. The focus is on consistency, enjoyment and positive habits rather than performance. By participating regularly, students feel settled, energised and ready to learn, supporting concentration, behaviour and classroom engagement. RAD Run Club is inclusive of all students, including children who use wheelchairs and those of all abilities.

Prevention starts young

At Run Against Violence, children are at the heart of our prevention work. We know that healthy relationship education is most effective when it starts early, giving children the skills and confidence they need to build respectful relationships throughout their lives.

Learning about boundaries, emotional regulation, respect and what it means to feel safe at home gives children a foundation they can carry into adolescence and adulthood. Our partnership with RAD Run Club brings these important messages into an environment where children can learn, move and connect in a way that is safe, inclusive and fun.

It also reflects what RAV does best: mobilising the whole community. By engaging children, families, schools, sporting clubs and the wider community, we can make healthy relationships part of everyday life and build prevention into the places where people live, learn and grow.
