OUR PREVENTION WORK

Run Against Violence is leading the way in whole-of-community action to eliminate domestic and family violence.

Broken Hill tosydney team chase

Our annual flagship event provides a national platform for communities to show they care about the elimination of domestic and family violence and begin moving toward change. More than 16,000 people have participated in the event, drawing from 316 local government areas nationally. The event has generated $1.5 million for investing into the prevention of domestic and family violence.

Zero DFV

The Zero DFV program is a whole-of-community initiative working toward a future free from domestic and family violence. Delivered by Run Against Violence, it brings together local residents, businesses, government, and frontline services to align efforts and take coordinated action. Rather than tackling the issue in isolation, Zero DFV unifies what communities are already doing—education, awareness, support, and prevention—into a shared strategy designed to stop violence before it starts.

Chase itforward fund

Funding is a major barrier to driving change at a community level. We have established the Chase It Forward Fund empower communities to lead change their way. Our community donation pool gives teams in the Broken Hill to Sydney Team Chase the opportunity to direct funds towards organisations creating change where they live.

PreventionPodcast

The RAV podcast gives voice to the communities who are leading the way in the prevention of domestic and family violence. In Season 4 of the Run Against Violence podcast, founder Kirrily Dear goes beyond the headlines to explore what preventing domestic and family violence actually looks like in practice.

respectfulrelationship education

We are on a mission to ensure every Australian teenager has access to respectful relationship education and we have partnered with NAPCAN’s Love Bites program to make that possible. In 2020, Run Against Violence partnered with NAPCAN to help expand the reach and impact of Love Bites, a school-based program that gives young Australians the tools to build healthy, violence-free relationships.

RADRun Club

Primary school students across Australia will run, walk and move their way across the country as part of the new Broken Hill to Sydney Team Chase: RAD Edition. Using the established RAD Run Club platform, the initiative will help primary school students explore what healthy friendships look like and why confidence, empathy and respect matter.
