Round 2 - Grant Recipients

Run Against Violence allocated $64,865 for Round 2 of the Love Bites Grants program.

The aim of the Grants program is to:

  • fund the training of Love Bites facilitators in communities where the cost of training facilitators is a barrier to building up or sustaining the Love Bites program, and

  • support the adaptation of Love Bites for specific community settings.

Once again, two Grant categories were in place: Major Projects and Individuals.

The Grants process opened in December 2021, with applications closing early February 2022. This ensured adequate time for grants to be approved and used during the calendar year of 2022.

Applications were received from Queensland, NSW, Northern Territory, and Western Australia and covered metropolitan, regional, rural, and remote communities.

The RAV Committee applied five key criteria to prioritise the applications:

  • Practical impact

  • Opportunity to implement

  • Regional and State diversity

  • Genuinely no other way of funding

  • Contributions that they have already made to their community/education

As a result of the selection process, $41,425 was allocated to the Major Projects category and $23,440 to the Individual category.

The following organisations were the recipients of the 2022 Grants providing the opportunity for community-based teachers and workers to be trained in NAPCAN’s Respectful Relationship Education program, Love Bites and/or Love Bites Junior.
