Trauma-Informed Training Modules

Tuned In is an online course designed for adults working with young people in group settings. Each module provides essential knowledge, evidence-based techniques, and practical tools to help facilitators create safe, engaging, and trauma-informed spaces. The course aims to build confidence and skills for supporting young people and strengthening safety networks around them.

Run Against Violence provided $35,000 of seed funding for the program.

What Does the Course Cover?

The course features 6 modules covering:

  • Facilitating Child Safe Group Work with Young People
  • What makes a Child Safe Facilitator
  • Understanding Trauma and Facilitating Trauma Informed Groups
  • Creating Child Safe Spaces: Building Connections, Trust and Respect
  • Keeping it Together – Dealing with Challenging Behaviours and when things go wrong
  • Identifying and Responding to Young People’s Concerns

Who is the Course For?

Tuned In is ideal for any adult working or undertaking group work with young people, including:

  • Adults delivering respectful relationships education, e.g. NAPCAN’s Love Bites facilitators who include people from a range of settings including police, health workers, youth workers, sexual health workers
  • Teachers and school staff
  • Recreational groups such as Scouts, Girl Guides, PCYC, and sporting clubs
